Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, I decided to become a lawyer at a young age. I was raised the son of a preacher and taught right from wrong, to treat people with respect and to be honest in all my dealings. It was my desire to help people that drove me to become an attorney.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Florida where I majored in English and minored in Political Science. I graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, AL, in 2004, where I focused on litigation and won several trial team awards. During my years in law school I clerked with several very successful law firms, including Levin, Papantonio in Pensacola, FL.
Immediately after earning my Juris Doctorate, I became a Florida Assistant State Attorney, where I prosecuted hundreds of misdemeanor and felony crimes. I obtained a wealth of trial and litigation experience. I have tried 59 criminal jury trials to date, worked as a state public defender, practiced civil and criminal law since 2004, and put my experience and knowledge to work for my landlord and property management clients.
After working in property management law for years, I decided to become a Florida licensed real estate as well, which I did in 2017. It’s my desire and goal to be the best property management law attorney in Florida.
I also have a strong interest in political and philosophical matters because I believe life and liberty are worth improving and protecting. I ran for state house in 2012, have authored hundreds of political articles and several books and wrote a weekly editorial opinion in a notable newspaper for years. I carry my passion for protecting people’s rights and liberty with me into the law practice and use it to benefit my client’s business and protect them in the legal system.
I enjoy being actively involved in my community and am a father to three children (with another due in January 2019) and husband to my wife, Jennifer. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing music, singing, outdoors and hunting, and my church.
Over the years, my memberships have included the National Association of Residential Property Managers, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Montana Shooting Sports Association, and Federalist Society.
